Edward Tufte's
Cognitive Style of PowerPoint made the rounds a number of months ago
in blogspace.
Now, the $7 article is featured in the NY Times article
PowerPoint Makes You Dumb.
I'm working on a Roller presentation and I don't want to make anybody dumb, so I just ordered a copy.
I use OpenOffice. You can do export in HTML, PDF
and Flash... Cool feature if you want to publish
on the web.

I used Open Office to write and illustrate the original Roller article and I played with the Open Office presentation app as well. It is a clone of PowerPoint and I presume it, in Tufte's view, shares the same flaws.
