Jeez, gotta love that rhetoric. It's good to know a committee at Sun can come up with a better way to build web applications than people who do it every day.

Take a look at the list of companies and individuals in the <a href= "http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=127">JSF expert group. It is by no means just a "commitee at Sun."

So you really think it's a better solution than Struts, WebWork, or Tapestry? Don't forget, this is a spec that needed a change of spec lead and 2 years to get released...

I'm not going to prejudge JSF without actually using it, but from my Struts experience and the little I have seen of JSF, I am ready to say it looks than Struts. <p /> Since JSF is an official Java standard, it is going to be the default choice for many, if not the majority of, Java webapp developers.

I actually liked the David Geary presentation yesterday night @ the RTP JUG.. The data table part of it was really nice.. I also liked the automatic validation and caching features of JSF.. I googled for the JSF presentation slides.. I was not able to get the exact one, but heres the presentation that David Geary gave @ denver JUg (which is almost the same presentation) http://horstmann.com/corejsf/djug-jsf-10-08-2003.pdf
