An informal analysis of user-agents at the Java.Blogs community site shows Roller in the lead, beating out Movable Type as the most popular weblogging software among Java bloggers. The analysis was carried out by Henri Yandel.

This is old news, but still deserves note. In early October, the Javalobby relaunched and rebranded the old FreeRoller service as JRoller. Javalobby has put in place scheduled backups, issue tracking, FTP access for file uploads and Rick Ross of the Javalobby has started his own blog which is going strong.

Anthony Eden and Mindaugas Idzelis have joined the Roller project. Anthony has been supporting Roller for quite some time via his free FreeRoller.NET blogging service which now hosts over 1200 weblogs and is hosted by the JavaLobby. Mindaugas contributed Roller's excellent new weblog search capability and is now working on refactoring, critiquing, and cleaning up the Roller architecture and code-base.

So says JanneJalkanen, author of JSPWiki. Check out the new RollerWikiPlugin, coming soon in Roller 0.9.8. The plugin allows you to integrate your Roller-based weblog with an external instance of JSPWiki In fact, this very blog entry is written using Wiki syntax.
