Harmony!

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could just apt-get, pkg-get or emerge JavaTM on your favorite open source *nix platform? Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing for Java developers if Apache HTTPD came with built-in support for J2SE and J2EE? I think we just took a step in that direction.

I thought that we could already do that with GNU classpath? (althought not complete)

It's the "although not complete" part that is the problem with GNU classpath. I believe that by bringing the GNU classpath folks together with others, Apache hopes to build a complete solution.
