Abstract#

Enable group blogging in Roller so that each Roller user to have zero, one or more Roller Websites (i.e. blogs). Each Roller Website can have one or more users, which some users having rights only to edit drafts and some having the ability to publish and unpublish weblog entries.

High Level Requirements#

Core requirements#

  • A Roller user must be able to have zero, one or more Websites
  • A Roller Website must be able to have one or more users
  • Existing Roller Websites must be be unaffected. For example, exising URLs must still work

Permission and workflow requirements#

  • Some users "editors" of a Website will have special privileges in the Website:
    • Ability to publish and edit published Weblog Entries
    • Ability to edit everything in the Website (as users are now allowed to do)
    • Ability to add and remove users from a Website
    • Ability to grant "editor" rights to users in the Website
  • Some users "authors" of a Website will have limited rights in a Website
    • Only be able to edit and save drafts posts
    • Not able to edit catagories, bookmarks, templates, website settigns, etc.
  • A user may have different rights in differernt Websites
  • Some users "admins" will have the ability to edit and post in all Websites
