So far, not impressed with MyEclipse.

I've only spent a little while working with MyEclipse, so perhaps I'm just a clueless newbie, but... I still haven't figured out how to get the JSP editor to work as expected or to avoid the 5-10 second startup every time I launch the editor on a new file. So far, I am not impressed.

At least you got it installed. I downloaded both the WinXP and OS X versions - neither would install and it therefore MyEclipse never made it past my crap filter.

I just ran across your MyEclipse issues while cruising the web. I'm one of the MyEclipse support guys and was troubled to see your and Matt's difficulties. I scanned our support cases and did not see any feedback from either of you. If you post your issues to the "free" MyEclipse Support Forums (www.myeclipseide.com) someone (me) will be happy to assist you. I hope to hear from you soon. Michael MyEclipse Support

I'll reserve future judgement until I've seen the docs and the forums. I just installed MyEclipse today, so all I can comment on now is the just-out-of-box experience.

I've been using MyEclipse for a few months. There's a delay when I edit the first JSP file in my session, but from that point on opening a JSP editor is as snappy as editing any other file. I found it useful enough to pay for it.

I have found the jsp support the best taht there is for eclipse. (which there are not too many players in that space). The one thing I am annoyed with is how the WEB-INF/classes directory is blown away and all the class files are exploded in! That should be left up to the build process, not the IDE!
